Previously Published to News Break One year into the pandemic and our world is becoming the ultimate ghost town. We’re seeing a massive exodus from the West Coast, businesses closing doors, and workers being laid off in numbers from those that had never been laid off before. Tech says there’s an app for that but so many fail to listen! In an annual Kong survey, more than 400 senior technology decision-makers were polled across a broad range of US and European industries, the general consensus was that if businesses refused to modernize, they’d be next to be featured in the Smithsonian. According to the 2021 Digital Innovation Benchmark report, 51% of tech leaders expect a majority of businesses to go under, or be acquired, by 2024. These leaders went so far as to state that companies lagging in digital innovation may live only three years — and, that’s if they rush to do something now. In fact, nearly 89% of respondents went on to explain that by creating new digital experiences, businesses could easily combat the challenges faced by the pandemic and that these interests should serve as critical to their organization going forward. In 2020, only 75% of respondents […]

PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED TO WEBRTC’S REAL TIME COMMUNICATIONS BetterCloud, a blog community that periodically releases research data related to the Tech World, recently released findings of a survey covering the trends for cloud-related activity within the Enterprise realm. More than 1600 total IT professionals and end-users participated in the poll. Of those surveyed, 76 percent of them came from small-to-medium sized businesses with 14 percent from large-sized organizations. Everyone else fell between the gaps. With such a gap in participants, it’s very interesting to see the correlation between both groups of adoption and the common denominators that fall in between them. This survey focused on the data related to utilization of real time messaging, distractions and the overall organizational impact of real time communications. The end-goal was to help businesses make more intelligent decisions when it comes to choosing better business technologies. With little need for additional phone services, most small-to-medium sized businesses choose not to increase investments for phone systems, as they are considered unnecessary to the organization. Yet, 57 percent of all groups surveyed use two or more real-time messaging applications for both internal and external communications. Some organizations are using as many as five messaging services at a […]

Previously published to TMC Net’s Cloud Computing Magazine For those migrating to cloud-based systems, there has been slight hesitation where security is concerned. Within reason, there are many companies that are more precautious when moving proprietary and confidential information to a “free for all” type of platform. Then, there are those that realize cloud-systems may actually be more secure than their own in-house servers, and enjoy the benefits of monitoring and lockout. Likewise, there are those that refuse to become part of the shift, out of fear of data loss and hijacked information. Striata – a company dedicated to Customer Communications Management software and document security technologies – launched an innovative Secure Document Repository (SDR) Solution. This solution brings enterprises, both large and medium, six layers of protection, bringing enhanced data protection. What’s better is that this solution not only keeps data secure within the cloud, but it also protects data once it leaves the cloud. With a new strategy in enforcing privacy within the cloud system, this SDR focuses directly on data breaches that plague the global community to ensure safe defense in daily operations, especially for those who regularly access or work within the cloud.   For many companies, […]

Previously Published to TMC Net’s NFVZone China Mobile is migrating systems into smarter and more agile networks. To do this, they are adopting the ZTE Corporation’s Network Function Virtualization (NFV), as their means in optimizing networks to allow for faster speeds and better connectivity to user devices. Through this adoption, China Mobile will find that systems are easier to manage. A provider in a country with the highest world population, this seems to be a great move towards innovation and improved performance, where networks could easily become congested.  This shift will be essential in ensuring high performance abilities during the workday rush.In addition to the network solutions being made available to China Mobile, ZTE is implementing smaller, more manageable stations to ensure connectivity and decongestion throughout the virtualized network. With such high populations, these small substations would be considered checkpoints to verify functionality. “ZTE is committed to work with China Mobile to accelerate the deployment of integrated small base stations and build the highest-performance TD-LTE networks,” said Bai Yanmin, Vice President of ZTE. “ZTE’s products can enable operators to shorten response times to network malfunction, and make it faster to deploy new services for users.” An NFV-based Gateway solution contributes […]

PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED TO TMCNET’S WEBRTC SOLUTIONS A sharp increase in online sales shows that consumers are learning to trust brands through interactive experiences and online platforms. A “buy it now” mentality has influenced the demand for most brands to shift the way they do business and often changing the first point of contact between the brand and the consumer. Most importantly, this adoption has led to an increased need to meet the consumer “at the door” with a qualified sales specialist and customer service representative in assisting the consumer in an enriched shopping experience. Last week, VeriShow released an integrated solution that benefits Salesforce Live Agent. This customer service tool allows companies to provide an enhanced live chat option in meeting their customers with a better in-store experience. Taking control of the sales funnel, VeriShow allows agents to lead the customer directly to a particular product or service of interest, as they are given the power to access consumer screens and better guide them through the sales process. This, of course, can be done in real time – and saving energy on behalf of the consumer, while better influencing the point of sale and reducing drop-offs to the sales funnel. […]

PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED TO TMCNET’S REAL-TIME COMMUNICATIONS According to PricewaterhouseCoopers, “Smartphones, connected medical accessories and apps have been underutilized by the healthcare industry.” But, not any more! Recent studies report a shift in the way consumers are caring for their health, as usage soars for health-related apps and technologies. In 2016, it is predicted that we will see an even larger shift in consumer access to personal records, video diagnoses and even monitoring of our own health. Many of us have alarms set up on our phones already, reminding us to stay hydrated. Others are connecting smartphones to small devices that clock sleeping patterns and restlessness in the night. This year alone, ensa introduced International audiences to a HIPAA-Compliant app that allows individuals to access healthcare records at any time of day, whenever they please. Most recently, a “Good Habit App” was released by ORCAS to curb bad habits by monitoring cause and effects on health conditions, while instituting good habits in developing healthier individuals. In late 2015, GreatCall acquired Lively, Inc. in supporting the health needs of our growing niche of tech-savvy senior citizens. For years, consumers have been heading to the Internet to research every sneeze and every scratch […]

PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED ON TMCNET’S REAL TIME COMMUNICATIONS Planon, a software provider in support of workplace optimization and Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS), has released their predictions in Real Estate and Facility Management efficiencies for 2016. “Many of the trends that will come into focus in 2016 already exist today, but their significance is expected to grow and become mainstream in the near future,” states David Karpook, Strategic Business Consultant at Planon. “Today’s facilities management and real estate managers face an increasing need to respond to the evolution of technology and sustainability, ensure compliance, and increase cost efficiency.”  Planon predicts that IoT opportunities will be made more applicable to the Real Estate spectrum in 2016. Therefore, it will be increasingly adopted by agents all over the world. Bottom lines will increase with the placement of affordable sensor technologies. Analytics data will be easily collected through occupancy of the workplace or meeting room. Additional IoT implementations point to better utilization of smart screens triggered by in app functionality or by room sensors, alone. In the case of real estate, the amount of time an onlooker spends in each room may translate to sales potential, funneling sales interest data collected during the time […]
