PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED ON NEWS BREAK As early as Kindergarten, we are taught that families vary in size, shape, and dynamic. As society evolves, this is becoming even more of a reality. What was once thought to be the traditional family, almost no longer exists. For some, family gatherings are becoming a thing of the past. Screens are replacing intimate moments with our loved ones, and we can’t even spare a few moments to call for a chat. Families aren’t always shared by blood. In fact, most people today will find that they are closer to non-relatives than strangers they have known their whole lives. Your best friend becomes your sister, your neighbor your cousin — and, there’s nothing wrong with that. Families are the core of our existence, and while none of them are perfect, we should cherish what we have. Not everyone has a family. Not every family has our backs. Whether big or small, near or far, if you do have a family, you should realize just how lucky you are, and you should allow that blessing to drive you. Don’t make the mistake of taking your loved ones for granted. Don’t let misunderstandings cut the tithes that were so […]

Could this Smart Mask be a game-changer, as children return to the classroom?

Orlando Nex-Gen Smart Mask Wearable, Covid-19, Coronavirus, Champ Bailey, NFL

PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED ON NEWSBREAK Slated to be the “World’s First Nex-Gen Technology Mask,” NFL Hall-of-Famer, Champ Bailey, has teamed up with Modern Radio, Inc. to launch an Indiegogo campaign for the scaled production of a new wearable that could have our kids back in the classroom much sooner than later. Using next-generation technologies, this smart mask would do more than stop airborne particles from infecting the student body. Once adopted, it would monitor the personal air quality and temperature of each student, tracking daily use and compliance across the greater K12 environment. Such data would aid teachers in maintaining a healthy space for our children to learn, as they return to brick-and-mortar classrooms across the country. Winning the 2020 Global Innovation Award at the ATP Cyber Health Tech Conference in August, Modern Radio has been actively working to test and develop the smart mask for optimal integration. The first concern was with safety. They wanted to be sure that the mask would work effectively with no adverse reactions that would otherwise contradict the purpose of being worn. We have heard so many horror stories about how masks worsened — and even created — long-term health conditions for people, who were […]

PUBLISHED ON MEDIUM If you grew up watching Nick Jr., you already know how much of an impact interactive television shows, such as Blue’s Clues, can have on a young mind. Our children feel as if the characters on the show are actually their friends, and they quickly embrace the second-person experience, as a means for early-learning education. They become like sponges — easily engaged and encouraged by conversation. Intrigued by curiosity, they thirst for exploration. And while they quickly absorb the material and storylines presented before them, there is a huge divide between reality and storytelling that continues to leave a void out in the open. Augmented reality is changing all of that, allowing our children to thrive at levels we have never seen before. Our children learn in different ways, and yet reading is a major part of who we become as students, educators, and professionals in our fields. We learn visually, we learn through auditorial experiences and we learn through pure immersion, completely saturated in the overall experience. One company making a difference. Within, a Los Angeles-based tech company, has been taking advantage of this ideal, creating exciting new platforms and highly interactive experiences in augmented, mixed […]
